DecoExchange Invited to Decorate Nation’s Capital for 2020 Holiday Season

Chalmette, LA, USA – October 27, 2020 – DecoExchange founders Damon Oates and Parker Stelly have officially been invited to decorate the Nation’s Capital in preparation for the 2020 Holiday Season. The initial planning for the Christmas season is underway for the people’s house being open to the public for their traditional Christmas decorating. In addition to inviting decorators, musicians, bands, choirs, and Christmas-themed entertainers will perform during the Holiday Open Houses throughout the month of December.

When Oates and Stelly aren’t representing the state of Louisiana with their decorating skills, they run DecoExchange, an online organization with a crafting community of over 270,000 Facebook followers. The community raises money for good causes while educating creators and crafters in the process on how to create and sell a handmade product. DecoExchange provides wreath supplies, designer wreaths, and they teach designers how to turn their creative hobby into a business. (https://howtomakewreaths.com)

In September, DecoExchange came together to host an online Christmas Tree Topper course, and money raised from signups was donated to families affected by Hurricane Laura. The class taught participants how to make a Christmas tree topper and had 2,371 registrations. Of those signups, 1,507 people gave additional donations. DecoExchange raised over $50,000 to feed over 5,000 people that were out of power, had no groceries, and no electricity at the close of the challenge.

DecoExchange plans to host a Mantel Madness Challenge to raise money for the annual DecoExchange Christmas blessings project. The team buys, wraps, and donates gifts and essential items to women’s shelters, retirement homes, homeless shelters, and other organizations benefiting battered women and children.

“We can’t fix the world by ourselves, but if we inspire five people to do something good – those people will go out and inspire others,” says Cofounder Parker Stelly. “One of the core values of our business is that we use our influence, knowledge, and community to impact the world positively.”
