Award-winning educator and author, Dandy B Maxwell, releases her book, “Perseverance: A Soldier’s Memoir,” a narration of her son’s experience at the warfront.

Dandy B Maxwell is offering an eye-opener in Perseverance: A Soldier’s Memoir, a book where she takes a different look at fighting the supposed enemies as she chronicles the experience of her only son on the battlefield. Dandy offers a revelation of how her son, Ross Richardson Bettis, who was ordered to go to the war called Desert Storm, and his desire for peace instead of war.

Fighting on a battlefield often goes beyond having the right ammunition, as soldiers also have to fight their inner feelings and the conviction to do otherwise. The case was not particularly different with Ross Richardson Bettis, the only child of Dandy B Maxwell, and the late Dr. Roseal B. Bettis, a former professor at Tuskegee University.

Ross Richardson Bettis received orders to go to the war called Desert Storm in January 1990. However, things took a drastic turn after he landed the battleground, praying to the Lord for safety and protection following a deep reflection after the first night of his arrival to the war.

“He told me that he had decided that his life was not in the hands of President Bush nor Saddam Hussein. After praying, he said he felt like he could fly to freedom or peace instead of war,” said Dandy B Maxwell.

It seemed like the spirits of Ross and his mother was in unison as Dandy B Maxwell was fighting tooth and nail back home to have her child return, writing and calling the governor of Alabama and the Pentagon to ensure that only product of her marriage to the Dr. Roseal B. Bettis is back safe and sound.

Perseverance: A Soldier’s Memoir will make an amazing read for lovers of nonfiction, showing the compassion of a mother and the untold stories of soldiers at the war front.

The Kindle and Paperback versions of the book are currently available on Amazon as well as other major platforms where it has continued to enjoy rave reviews.
